Jen Lane Charlotte, NC interior designer

Hello

My name is

        Jen Lane

Design has been the driving force of my career from the very beginning. Studying fashion at Pratt Institute laid the foundation for my keen eye for color, texture, and composition. Going on to work as a fashion designer for years refined my ability to blend aesthetics with functionality. They gave me a deep understanding of fibers, fabric construction, and the proper ways to use different materials to achieve beauty and longevity. I developed a strong expertise in color theory and the art of balancing patterns, solids, and textures to create depth and visual harmony. These principles, essential in fashion, translate seamlessly into interiors—allowing me to curate layered, intentional, and timeless spaces.

After moving to Charlotte, I focused on my family while continuing to nurture my creative instincts. When decorating my home, I discovered my passion for spatial design, and soon, friends began seeking my expertise to transform their spaces. What started as a personal pursuit quickly evolved into a thriving business, and in 2020, Whit Willow was born. Since then, my work has been sought after through word of mouth, a testament to my ability to craft environments that feel both curated and deeply personal.

Fashion and interiors share a fundamental principle—understanding the client. Whether designing garments or spaces, the magic lies in creating something that feels tailor-made. My approach is rooted in getting to know each client’s unique style and lifestyle, ensuring their home truly reflects who they are. Let’s create a space that tells your story with beauty, warmth, and intention.
